Alicia is a qualified Primary School Teacher, turned childminder, having previously taught across the EYFS (0-5 years) in a large school environment. Alicia wanted to offer more personalised care with smaller numbers of children, to form more effective working relationships with children and their families.   Alicia enjoys planning, teaching and evaluating learning opportunities for children under her care; personalising their curriculum to their own specific learning needs, nurturing their interests and personal development.  Alicia offers childminding from her home near Houghton Primary Care Centre and Burnside Academy. The setting is a home-from-home setting with a purpose-build playroom and outdoor provision, giving your child access to a wide variety of toys and equipment designed to enhance all areas of their learning and development.  Alicia has interests in Montessori Education, The Curiosity Approach and Outdoor Learning; with the children experiencing as many outings as possible to enhance their personal, social and emotional development, foster their independence and develop their understanding of the world around them. Full time places are available Monday to Friday (7:30am to 5:30pm) for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
