We are the first nursery in the country to have both Investors in People, Investors in Children and National Day Nurseries Quality Counts. We are a large Victorian building set in the affluent area of Ashbrooke in Sunderland. We are in close proximity to 2 private schools and 4 local authority schools, one of which is Catholic.
The nursery has a large car park at the front of the building, and access to the nursery is via steps also to the front of the building, if assistance is required to enter the building there is a disability assistance button which links to the office. We are registered for 81 children.
We have a highly qualified management team and our Manager has Early Years Teacher Status and the owner is a qualified teacher.
All staff are qualified to a level 3 or above in childcare. All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained, have Food Hygiene and Allergy awareness certificates.

Wheelchair Access - Yes
We have wheelchair access via the side of the building as there are a set of steps that lead up to the front door of the nursery. We do not have access to the 1st or 2nd floor only the ground floor.
Special Needs - Yes
wide selection of resources, staff have basic Makaton and children use this on a daily basis through songs and rhyme, staff have very good knowledge of SEND, excellent communication with parents enabling smooth transitions and happy children.
Dietary Needs - Yes
Parents fill in a registration form, they tell us what their child can/cannot eat and we inform our cook, this is then reviewed on a regular basis. We run a traffic light system, each child has their own place setting at meal times their colour depends on their dietary requirements (red, amber or green) each room also has allergy cards on display for every child in nursery (where necessary) this enables all staff to be aware of each child's allergy, intolerance, religion etc.
Cultural Provisions - Yes
Multicultural resources, activities to enable children to become aware of other cultures, we plan into our curriculum special celebrations from other cultures for example Chinese New Year, Diwali. Food Tasting and any other interests that come from the children.
