The Royal Air Force Air Cadets are sponsored by the Royal Air Force and give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in any walk of life.
The aims of the Royal Air Force Cadets are to;
promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people;
provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life;
encourage the spirit of adventure; and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
607 (Wearmouth) Squadron is based in Seaburn, Sunderland and is one of 35 Air Cadet Squadrons in Durham/Northumberland Wing which covers most of the North East of England.
As a unit we meet at our headquarters, in Seaburn, on a Tuesday and Friday evenings each week, we also offer a range of weekend trips and activities, aswell as week long residential camps around the UK and abroad.
Air cadet members are aged between 12 and 20 years old. You can join us once you start Year 8 at school, however the maximum age for entry is 17 years old. We usually recruit in the spring and the autumn but you can request to join at anytime.
