Claire has an Ofsted registered home from home setting and encourager's learning through play using the EYFS framework. Her background is in teaching and more specifically Design & Technology so she is very creative; this is shown through the way she plan's and deliver activities and run's her setting.
Claire has a lovely family and lives in Ryhope with her husband who is DBS checked. He runs his own accountancy and bookkeeping business and is her accountant and registered to be her assistant. Claire and her husband have 2 children. They are both very caring and love to be around and play with other children.
Claire lives in a 3 bed semi detached property with a large garden to the rear and gardens to the front.
Claire lives in a smoke free environment and has a very active family that love the outdoors.
Claire's Experience
Claire absolutely love's children! She has been a teacher for 12 years and hold's qualified teacher status. Claire is enthusiastic about her job and feel's it is very rewarding, she understands and has experience of looking after all ages of children from new born babies up to teenagers and is confident in doing so. Claire is always keeping up to date with the appropriate training, such as first aid, health & safety, hygiene and safeguarding as well as new information such as British values and the prevent duty. Claire has completed a minimum of 25 hours a year CPD training and seeks it out in support of any child she has in her care. In addition to this she also has a lot of experience in child development, health and social care as well as teaching it she has been actively involved in developing the curriculum for this, completed many research papers and practical developments for CPD in support of this to understand more.
Claire's Availability
Claire offers available places for full and part time children as well as including 15hours free childcare for 2 (subject to eligibility) and 3&4 year olds. She currently pick's up and drop's off at St Pauls CofE Primary School in Ryhope. She also offer's holiday club spaces out of term time. Her normal working hours are 7.30am - 6pm Monday - Friday, however she can be flexible outside of these times if required, please just ask.
Claire's qualifications
Claire hold's a BA Hons Degree In Design Technology & Education. She has Qualified Teacher Status and has also taught child development and health & social care for 10 years. She has a level 3 HCBA CACHE childcare qualification, Paediatric first aid certificate (Nov 22nd 2015), L2 Food Safety and Catering certificate (March 15 2016). She also has all the core safeguarding training and is currently developing further special needs and learning needs training for early years with PACEY. Claire has also completed training in many awareness and developmental modules regarding SEN and learning difficulties, most recently for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (Jan 11th 2017).
Claire is registered for Tax Free Childcare.
