Good Enough Parenting: A child needs ‘good enough’ parenting to survive and grow into a healthy, functioning adult. Good-enough parents don’t strive to be perfect parents; nor do they expect their children to be perfect. Explore what a child needs from a parent to experience good enough parenting.
Healthy Child Development: A child’s environment, and a child’s closest relationships, have a significant impact on their development. Therefore, parents and carers have a crucial role to play in supporting children’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. This snapshot aims to provide an understanding of child development and how you can support your child at specific points in their development.
Emotional Resilience: Is the ability to manage stress and still function reasonably well, to ‘bounce back’. For children’s emotional development it is important that parents and carers are able to manage their emotions. This snapshot aims to help us understand why this happens and what we can do about it.
Family Values and Healthy Boundaries: A focus upon where these may come from and how creating your own family values can prevent conflict with family members pulling in different directions. Alongside family values, exploring why do children behave the way they do and why adults behave the way they do, and how we can have different parenting styles.
Safer Communities: The focus is upon what the potential risks are to our children from birth to 11yrs plus in the community and online. This snapshot will focus upon considering what parents and carers can do, to keep children safe.
